Every Challenge brings together a great mix of participants from all walks of life...students, doctors, house wives, face paint artists, accademics, historians, nurses, teachers, office workers and shop assistants, men, women, husbands and wives, mothers and daughters and whole families, even the grandmothers. However the group is made up it has always been a supportive and fun enviroment all with the same goal of wanting to attain a long term solution to weight management.
As part of the Challenge, the Body Composition Scan appointment proves a valuable tool in understanding your healthy weight range and how best to work to achieve it. The Scanner reads your hydration level, musculature, body fat percentage, visceral fat range, bone mass and even tells your metabolic age!
Participants often comment on how being accountable each week for their weight helps them to make good choices through the week. We weigh in at the begining of each night and recognize the best results each week. The average weight loss of participants is from 8-10% of their body weight. After each Challenge night notes on the evening's topic are emailed to participants.
The Challenge encourages a healthy active lifestyle where light exercise and activity are incorporated into every day life. Walks and exercise programes are included when the participants are free to be involved along with regular invitations to followup gatherings to keep focussed after your Challenge has finished.
Previous winners of the Challenge are invited back to demonstrate how they have had long term success through the Challenge. It's not about a quick fix but long term weight management focussing on health and good nutrition. We have people coming to successive Challenges to complete what they started, to recommit and to just keep around the positive atmosphere of the group until they feel confident enough to go it alone. The returning participants help to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Of course there is the prize money which is a good incentive to do the best you can each week. The prizes are allocated by the greatest percentage of weight lost. So, even someone who just wants to lose a few kilos to trim up and learn about good nutrition and eating habits can, and has taken, out the prize money.
In previous Challenges winners have taken home over $374 1st prize, $249 2nd prize and $124 3rd prize. But the best prize was how much weight and centimetres was lost. The winners of the Challenge lose around 10-15% of their body weight in each Challenge and the group loss is over 100 kilos.

*Registration money is paid out in cash prizes to the winners. Specific rules will be in place to retain consistency $250 first-place prize, $150 second-place prize, and $100 third-place prize. Based on 20 Participants in a class. Please note that up to $24 per participant will be retained for administrative setup purposes and running expenses.
